It’s hard to think of an aspect of our lives that hasn’t changed as the result of computing. What’s coming next, and what are some of the hot trends and burning issues in computer science research today? Find out by watching live streaming broadcasts from the annual Microsoft Research Faculty Summit on July 15 and 16.
Four hundred elite academic investigators will gather at the event in Redmond, Washington, to explore the future with Microsoft researchers. Delivering the opening keynote will be Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates in his first such appearance since 2005.
Gates will address the role of computing in solving global problems, and then take questions from the in-person audience and online viewers. The keynote will be rebroadcast later in the day, but if you have a question for this leader in computing and philanthropy, be sure to view live at 9 a.m. PT on July 15.
After the keynote, watch insightful discussions about trends in software engineering and quantum computing, as well as developments in combatting Internet fraud, refining prediction engines, and using social media during crises. You can also learn how software is reducing the cost of genome research and putting cancer cures within reach. All live interviews will allow you to submit your questions and comments through an interactive tool in the viewer.
So mark your calendar for 9 a.m. PT on July 15 and get ready for a memorable event — the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit 2013 is one webcast you won’t want to miss.
