If you are a downward dog diva, or have the steel arms required to do the difficult Firefly pose, you can show off your flexibility with the first-ever Instagram Yoga monthlong daily challenge, beginning March 1. Skype will reward you for your exertions with prizes such as free vouchers for international calls, a Surface tablet and a JAMBOX speaker.
On the Skype Play Blog, Yulady Saluti, “a person who never stops moving,” introduces the challenge and her own yoga background. She’s a mother to six children, a certified yoga instructor, cancer survivor and devoted to living a new, healthy life centered with yoga and Ayurvedic studies. As the Skype Sports Brand Ambassador, Saluti is part of the Skype Moment Makers community. She will be hosting the challenge “along with some of the country’s most exciting and talented yogis.”
Saluti recounts her start in yoga on the blog. “I first got involved with the yoga community on Instagram when I threw myself back into my yoga practice with all my heart after finishing cancer treatments. I was looking for a way to track my progress and discovered Instagram.”
Once the challenge starts, a different host will post a picture or video of the pose of the day and include a daily intention. To join the challenge, contestants post a new picture or video of themselves in the pose of the day on Instagram and include their own daily intention. Skype will give away daily prizes of Skype Unlimited World vouchers, awarded by the host from that day, and a Skype Yoga Prize Pack each week. The Surface and JAMBOX speaker are the grand prize.
