Skype for Mac 6.14 was released Feb. 19, bringing with it ways to better manage your availability online and changes to improve compatibility with OS X Mavericks.

If you’re busy and have to decline an incoming call, the caller normally gets a busy signal. But in Skype for Mac 6.14, “if you have Voice messages set up, you now have the option to let declined callers leave you a voice message instead,” write Tom Huang and Nick Kocharhook on Skype’s Garage & Updates blog.

In the past you may have turned off all notifications, such as new message sounds, by setting your status to “Do Not Disturb,” — then forgotten that, and wondered why you’re not getting new notifications. Skype for Mac 6.14 adds a warning to the Notifications preference pane to remind you why you aren’t getting notifications.

While you’ve always been able to adjust the text size in an instant message conversation, text typed into the conversation box remained the same. “We’ve amended this so that now the two text sizes will be updated at the same time. Just choose ‘Make Text Bigger’ from the View menu.”
