Big news: You (and you and you, too) will be able to create games and experiences for Xbox One and Xbox Live.
So says Marc Whitten, chief product officer of Xbox, to Xbox Wire and Major Nelson today.
“Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development. That every game and experience can take advantage of all of the features of Xbox One and Xbox Live,” Whitten said. “This means self-publishing. This means Kinect, the cloud, achievements. This means great discoverability on Xbox Live.”
Whitten said Xbox will share more details on the program, including a timeline, at gamescom in August.
Meanwhile, perhaps it’s a good time to explore “Project Spark,” an open-world that gives you a way to build and play your own worlds, stories and games, and then share your creations with a dynamic community. Sign up now to join the beta program.
For this and other big Xbox news, it’s best to keep up with Xbox Wire and Major Nelson.
