Xbox 360 maintained its position as the top console in the U.S. last month, selling more units than any other platform with 140,000 units, according to new data from The NPD Group. June marked the 30th consecutive month Xbox 360 was the best-selling console in the U.S.
June highlights from NPD include:
- Total retail spend on the Xbox 360 platform in June (hardware, software and accessories) reached $197 million, the most for any console in the U.S.
- During the month of June, Xbox 360 held seven of the top 10 console game titles including: “Minecraft,” “NBA 2K13,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Deadpool,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” “Grand Theft Auto IV” and “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”
Xbox One, which will launch this fall, has already seen impressive pre-order sales as consumers have signed up to be the first to receive the new system. In fact, Xbox One pre-sales are trending ahead of Xbox 360 during the same time period.
