Microsoft Trustworthy Computing will release results of its new “Trust in Computing” research study this week. The Microsoft-commissioned survey aims to uncover current attitudes and perceptions related to security and privacy. The research touches on timely topics, including the impact of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in the enterprise, the development of secure software and cybercrime.
According to the Microsoft Security Blog, research objectives included:
- Measuring the current level of trust in technology products and services in terms of security and privacy.
- Identifying where concerns about security and privacy might be slowing down technology adoption, particularly related to cloud computing, consumerization of IT (aka BYOD), government legislation with respect to the Internet, geographic location data in mobile devices, and cyberthreats.
- Evaluating all of the above among the IT professional, developer, and consumer audiences.
- Better understanding all of the above in different locations/regions around the world.
Learn more about research objectives of the study, including locations and profiles, in Tuesday’s post on the Microsoft Security Blog.
