The Office Graph maps the relationships among people and information.

As customers gather this week for the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas and Convergence in Atlanta, they received an update on Microsoft’s enterprise social vision and road map — including three new social experiences designed to help companies work like a network.

As Office Blogs report, tapping into people-powered networks can help companies take the pulse of important conversations, adapt to an increasingly volatile market and grow.

The first new social experience focuses on creating the Office Graph. This extends Yammer’s concept of the Enterprise Graph across Office 365. Yammer’s technology maps the relationships between people and information by recording likes, posts, replies, shares and uploads. This extension will use email, social conversations, documents, sites, instant messages, meetings and more to map those relationships.

Another of Yammer’s most powerful tools is also being extended to the rest of Office 365 – the Groups Experience. Creating a group anywhere in Office 365 will automatically trigger a corresponding inbox, social feed, calendar and document library that group members can use to achieve their goals.

The third new social experience focuses on weaving social networking into apps by creating Inline Social Experiences in Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics, and any other app, service, or line-of-business system that is important to a business. For instance, businesses can add Yammer conversations to documents in SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

Head over to the Office Blogs to find out more about how Yammer’s network effect is being extended to Office 365 users and many others, and how a number of strategic investments helps lay the foundation for that progress.
