This has been a great new feature added in Windows Server 2012 R2. The possible scenario of the usage are Hyper-V failover cluster using Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) on block-level storage or Hyper-V failover cluster using file-based storage in a separate Scale-Out File Server.
