Hey current and future Windows Azure fans,
I just published the Base Configuration in Windows Azure TLG, in which the base configuration computers are running as Windows Azure virtual machines in a cloud-only Windows Azure Virtual Network.
Now you can use a free trial subscription or your paid Windows Azure subscription to build out the Corpnet subnet of the base configuration. The DC1, APP1, and CLIENT1 computers are on a single subnet within a virtual network called Corpnet. Here is the configuration:
Like the public cloud base configuration, these computers have access to the Internet to automatically install updates, access Internet resources in real time, and participate in public cloud technologies such as Microsoft Office 365 and other Windows Azure services.
As you investigate your current or future plans to move parts of your IT infrastructure to the public cloud, this new base configuration is a great way to get hands-on experience managing virtual machines using the Windows Azure Management Portal and Remote Desktop connections.
I am feverishly working on additional TLGs that build on this environment so that you can try key IT workloads in Windows Azure infrastructure services.
This is a very exciting development for the Test Lab Guides initiative as we enable and repurpose TLG content for the public cloud.

Enjoy!
