Fans of the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise will appreciate the debut of Aveline de Grandpré on Xbox 360 with “Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD,” and insights from Ubisoft Community Developer Gabe Graziani on what to expect with this remastered chapter of the pre-American Revolution.

It’s 1765 and Spanish forces plan to take control of Louisiana in the south – but they face Aveline, an assassin of French and African mixed heritage, who finds herself on a journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins.

Graziani revealed that players will see major improvements in the high-definition game through organic environments such as Agaté’s Hideout. Graziani says, “Agaté is Aveline’s mentor and he lives deep in the swampy bayou. His hideout climbs nearly to the top of a gigantic tree, with ramshackle rooms built one on top of another in a crazy stack, barely clinging to the tree for support.”

Players will also be able to use Aveline’s trademark whip to swing across gaps – making her “among the most mobile and nimble assassins yet!”

“Tuned to take full advantage of high definition resolutions, our team has completely reworked textures to pack in the maximum amount of detail possible,” Graziani shares. “Everything has been boosted, from more vibrant colors to re-mastered music and sound effects!”

Install "Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD" from the Xbox Marketplace and read more of Graziani’s perspective on Major Nelson’s blog.
