“Onslaught,” the first downloadable content pack for “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” is arriving first on Xbox Live Jan. 28, with other platforms to follow, reports Xbox Wire.
“Take the fight onto four small to medium Multiplayer maps: Fog, Bayview, Containment and Ignition, a reimagining of the classic map Scrapyard from ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,’” Xbox Wire says. “Players also gain access to the Maverick, an all-new dual purpose Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle.”
Have a look at “Onslaught” in the video above. On Major Nelson’s blog, Jeff Rubenstein goes into detail about the new maps. Fog, he says, “drops you into a dark and eerie campsite set alongside a fog-shrouded lake” where you’ll fight through “twisting caves, tall grass, and seemingly abandoned structures each providing different gameplay engagements for all types of players.”
BayView is set on a California boardwalk, filled with seaside gift stores and an aquarium, and is “a small, tight, fast-paced run-and-gun map.”
Containment is set along a dry riverbed in a war-torn South American village. “Battles will rage on both banks as well as along the riverbed itself, and at the heart of the map is a small bridge holding a hijacked truck containing leaking radioactive material.”
Ignition “drops players into an aging space launch facility in Florida,” and the map “packs plenty of action both above and below ground thanks to a layout of abandoned buildings, flame trenches, and a massive transport crawler that provides elevated sightlines.”
