Whether businesses are looking to dramatically scale or dynamically innovate, cloud computing is the future. Superlatives aside, writes Brad Anderson, corporate vice president of Windows Server & System Center, “cloud computing is no longer a spectator sport.”

To show how committed Microsoft is on cloud computing, and how far cloud computing has come, Anderson shared some key developments, including:

  • 76 percent of all enterprise apps now run on the cloud-friendly Windows Server platform.
  • Windows Azure attracts 1,000 new customers every day, and revenues have grown 210 percent year-over-year.
  • The cloud-based Office 365 is now the fastest-growing product in Microsoft’s 38-year history.

For more cloud developments, or for ideas about how to make the most of cloud computing, check out Anderson’s blog In the Cloud.
