Microsoft and Xbox Fitness rang the famous opening bell on Wall Street Thursday morning in celebration of Nasdaq’s third annual “Fit Week,” with members of the Xbox Fitness team giving the crowd live demos. During the first week of trading each year, Nasdaq hosts a week of bell ceremonies featuring companies that help Americans lead healthier lifestyles, writes Xbox Wire.

Dave McCarthy, general manager of lifestyle entertainment for Microsoft Studios, and celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson rang the Nasdaq bell. Since Xbox One launched on Nov. 22, more than 1 million fitness fans have visited the virtual Xbox Fitness gym.

“In addition to featuring the world’s best fitness videos, we also offer custom content like Tracy Anderson’s Transform workout that was developed uniquely for Xbox One,” said McCarthy. “We are excited about the potential for Xbox Fitness to help millions of people stay motivated, workout more effectively and have fun while getting in shape with the world’s top trainers.”

Xbox Fitness is free with your Xbox Live Gold membership until 2015, only on Xbox One. And to read the entire post, head over to Xbox Wire.
