You might be familiar with Bing’s “snapshots” – the modules that intelligently serve up information about key “entities” (like people, places, TV shows) while you search. Now you can augment your own website or blog with that same entity data using the new Bing Knowledge widget.
Here’s how it works. While a user browses your site, the widget detects related entities in real time, marking them with a little Bing charm. To learn more one of those entities, the user can simply click that charm to expose the familiar snapshot view, as you can see in the MSN example above.
The Bing Knowledge widget is currently being tested in preview on a small number of sites. Read more on the Bing Webmaster Blog, and sign up now to be notified when it’s available for your site.
