New consumer research from Microsoft and Nielsen shows that Windows 8 is not only a unique creative canvas for advertisers – it’s also an effective way for them to reach consumers in a meaningful, non-intrusive way.
The research measured how consumers respond to in-app ads created by Microsoft Advertising for Windows 8.
“Consumers exposed to Ads in Apps shift their perceptions of the advertised brand, and we see bumps in brand familiarity, affinity and purchase consideration,” writes Natasha Hritzu in a post today on the Microsoft Advertising Blog.
Just as important, the ads are non-intrusive and contextually relevant, so they avoid the high cost and negative brand impact of ads that interrupt or annoy consumers.
