“Forza Motorsport 5” launches along with Xbox One on Nov. 22. That’s just a little more than two months away, and the team at Turn 10 Studios is still hard at work fine-tuning the game so that it runs like a well-oiled machine.
“We’re detail oriented people,” said Turn 10 Studios Creative Director Dan Greenawalt in a story over on Xbox Wire. “We’re in the throes of polishing in order to make sure the game really shines.”
Turn 10’s aim? To create a title in “Forza Motorsport 5” that defines what it means to be a next-generation racing game.
Turn 10 has left no stone unturned in its effort to make the highly anticipated game as cutting edge as possible. The studio has worked with Calspan, one of the world leaders in transportation and aerospace research and development, to make the game more realistic than ever.
Then there’s the game’s next-generation artificial intelligence (AI), which is powered by the cloud.
Called Drivatar, this new breed of AI is born of data aggregated from every “Forza Motorsport 5” racer connected to Xbox Live. Every decision you make in “Forza Motorsport 5,” from the car you choose to how you drive, gets transferred to the cloud then converted into an AI-controlled persona – your Drivatar. That Drivatar can then downloaded by other players to race against.
To go under the hood of some of the other innovations Turn 10 has baked into “Forza Motorsport 5,” read this story over on Xbox Wire.
