The Release Candidate of Visual Studio 2013, .NET Framework 4.5.1 and Team Foundation Server 2013 are now available for download on the Visual Studio product website. Starting now, developers can also download Windows 8.1 RTM via their MSDN and TechNet subscriptions.
On Monday, we also announced that Visual Studio 2013 will be released to manufacturers at Windows 8.1 GA. In addition, the Visual Studio 2013 Virtual Launch will be held on Nov. 13. The launch will be available online. More details can be found about the virtual launch event on the events page.
“The Visual Studio 2013 RC can be installed on top of the Visual Studio 2013 Preview or side-by-side with Visual Studio 2012. Please note that Windows Store app development with Visual Studio 2013 RC requires Windows 8.1 RTM, which is available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers, starting today,” writes S. Somasegar, corporate vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft, in a blog post.
Some of the new features in Visual Studio 2013 RC include: enhancements to the XAML editor, the Office 365 Cloud Business App template, the most recent version of TypeScript tooling (v0.9.1.1) and much, much more.
