Your ability to make real-time predictions in mobile iOS apps just got a major boost – the Cortana Analytics Gallery now offers a template to help you build predictive apps for iOS using Visual Studio and Azure ML APIs.

In the template, we walk you through the process of creating iOS apps that consume an Azure ML RRS API using Xamarin. Xamarin ships with Visual Studio. The example in the tutorial uses Visual Studio 2015. You will need a Mac to run and test your app. Try it out and let us know what you think.

Mit dem Windows 10 Business Store können Unternehmen Apps für ihre Benutzer bereit stellen ohne dass diese ein privates MSA Konto benötigen, die Anmeldung erfolgt mit einem AAD Unternehmenskonto.

Soll der Windows 10 Business Store mit einer Verwaltungslösung gekoppelt werden, dann ist dafür entweder Intune (z.B. Teil des EMS Pakets) oder der SCCM in der Version 1511 erforderlich.

This tool enables you to use the same setup source code that you use to create a MSI package for other Windows platforms, to create an APPX package for Nano Server.

As those of you who are familiar with Office365Mon know, we heavily leverage the Office 365 APIs in our solution.  It’s been a key player in being able to issue now over 100 million health probes against Office 365.  I know and have talked to lots of you as well that are starting to build apps that leverage this same infrastructure for your own solutions.  As you develop these solutions based on the Office 365 APIs, it’s pretty important that you understand the scenarios where the Azure access token you get will and will not work to access Office 365 resources.

First, a couple of basics.  When you get an access token, for purposes of our conversation here today, the token represents your identity that is going to be used to access a resource in some way.  There are exceptions to this, i.e. app only tokens, but this post is about user identities and Office 365.  When you try and access a resource, you say here is my access token, I want do this with the content – for example, I am Steve, I want to read the email in my inbox.

The problem is this – what I just described is a common scenario, and it works well today with the Office 365 APIs.  But there are actually at least four scenarios, and you may be surprised to learn that the Office 365 APIs only work with one of them.  Part of the reason in writing this blog post is to make sure you all are aware of that, but also to hopefully drive a discussion with the folks that own the service so that they can give some consideration to expanding their support of these other scenarios in the future.  Here’s a quick run down on the scenarios that I’ve looked at so far; there may be others.

1. I own or otherwise have direct rights to a resource – WORKS!  This is the first scenario I described above – for example, when I want to access the email in my inbox, or if I’m part of a SharePoint group in my Office 365 tenant and I want to access content in that site.
2. I have been granted delegate rights to a mailbox – DOESN’T WORK!  In this scenario, I’ve been granted rights to another mailbox.  Now if open up Outlook for example I can read the mail in that mailbox no problem.  If I’m using the Exchange Web Services (EWS), I can access the mail in that mailbox.  But if I’m using the Office 365 APIs, it doesn’t work.
3. I have been invited to a SharePoint Online site – DOESN’T WORK!  In this scenario I’ve been invited as an external user to a SharePoint Online site.  I use my Azure AD credentials to accept the invitation and I can connect to the site in the browser.  However if I try and use an Azure access token against that resource it fails with an access denied error.
4. I have been added to an Azure tenant using the Azure B2B feature – DOESN’T WORK!  This is similar to #3 – after being added to the Azure tenant with the B2B feature I can be added to a SharePoint Online site and access it just fine in the browser.  However my Azure access token will only get me an access denied error if I try and use it on that site with the Office 365 APIs.

The key and common thread in all of these scenarios is that I am using my Azure AD identity.  It is a durable, immutable identity containing an immutable identifier known to Azure AD.  Even though I’m using that immutable identity, there is still a disconnect between it and all of the ways in which it has been granted access to resources in Office 365.  That is to say, there is a disconnect in the Office 365 APIs; in the browser applications they have this figured out.  Make sure you know these limitations, and let your favorite Microsoft human if you would like to these disconnects eliminated for a comprehensive and integrated identity and resource solution.

 Use the Get-CimInstance cmdlet, the Win32_Process WMI class, and the CommandLine property:

„Trotz steigender Schäden durch Hackerangriffe und Datenklau rüsten sich Deutschlands Mittelständler einer Studie zufolge nur unzureichend gegen Cyber-Kriminalität“, schreibt die Deutsche Presseagentur dpa jüngst über eine neue Umfrage der Beratungsgesellschaft PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Jedes zehnte mittelständische Unternehmen wurde 2014 demnach mindestens einmal Opfer einer Attacke aus dem Internet. Der wirtschaftliche Schaden durch die Attacken beträgt dabei im Schnitt 80.000 Euro. Zum Vergleich: Im Vorjahr lag dieser Wert noch bei nur 10.000 Euro. Nicht ausgewiesen sind dabei die Schäden, die durch fahrlässiges oder vorsätzliches Verhalten von Mitarbeitern verursacht werden – aller Erfahrung nach ist aber genau das eins der größten Sicherheitsprobleme, die Unternehmen haben.

Sicherheit ist eine betriebswirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche Aufgabe

Die Zeiten für sorglose Unternehmen werden nicht einfacher. Schon heute werden jede Sekunde 127 Dinge mit dem Internet verbunden; bis 2020 werden es mehr als 50 Milliarden sein, hat Cisco für eine Studie ausgerechnet. Und der Sicherheitsspezialist Kaspersky geht davon aus, dass zudem jeden Tag mehr als 300.000 neue Schaddateien erstellt und über das Internet verbreitet werden.

Mit der wachsenden Vernetzung von Geräten, Sensoren und Maschinen im Internet der Dinge und dem zunehmenden Einsatz mobiler Geräte wie Smartphones und Tablets haben sich die Bedrohungsszenarien stark verändert. Die Abschottung der unternehmenseigenen IT über Firewalls von der Außenwelt funktioniert heute nicht mehr. Stattdessen stehen Unternehmen jeder Größe für den Schutz ihrer Infrastrukturen in einer mobilen, vernetzten Arbeitswelt vor der Aufgabe, Mitarbeiter, Geräte und Daten einfach und sicher vor Verlust und unerlaubtem Zugriff zu schützen – egal, wo diese liegen und egal wo der Benutzer ist.

Sicherheit ist zudem nicht nur eine betriebswirtschaftliche Frage, so auch PwC in seiner Studie: Die Sicherheit von Daten, Anwendungen und Prozessen sowie wie die Rechtssicherheit bei der Nutzung von IT-Technologien sind elementare Grundbedürfnisse einer digitalen Gesellschaft und somit wichtige Rahmenbedingungen für Innovationen. Daher weist PwC darauf hin, dass es bei der Sicherheit auch um den Schutz der Gesellschaft geht. Das neue IT-Sicherheitsgesetz schreibt daher speziell Betreibern kritischer Infrastrukturen vor, sich besser gegen IT-Angriffe zu wappnen.

So geht Sicherheit!

Der Schutz von Infrastrukturen, Geräten, Mitarbeitern und Daten ist eine strategische Unternehmensaufgabe. Microsoft und seine Partner unterstützten Kunden dabei mit Sicherheitsfunktionen und -Tools auf allen Plattformen – egal, ob Windows 10, Office oder Azure. Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, is here. There are worse places to be in March than in Tampa, Florida. If you come to Florida, you might see the elusive and endangered Florida panther. You could see a bear. If you get out on the water, you will more than likely see a dolphin. You will probably see a gator, especially if you hang around swamps and creeks.

What I can say for sure, is that if you are in Tampa on March 19, 2016, you will definitely see some awesome Windows PowerShell.

The other day I was asked if coming to Windows PowerShell Saturday in Tampa was worth the drive. Well obviously the Scripting Wife and I believe it is worth it because this is the tenth Windows PowerShell Saturday event we have helped organize over the past several years. Every one of the events has sold out, and in all probability, the one in Tampa will also sell out.

The Charlotte event had people from 18 states attending. I know that we now have people from 10 states planning to attend the Tampa event, and Windows PowerShell MVP and Honorary Scripting Guy, Sean Kearney, is flying in from Canada. Here is the landing page for Windows PowerShell Saturday Tampa:

Four tracks

We are having four tracks at the Tampa event. There will be a beginner track for those people who want to learn about Windows PowerShell but have little experience. We also have an advanced track, a miscellaneous track, and an applied track. We have some awesome speakers—truly a top-shelf lineup.

For example, Mark Minasi and I will be presenting the keynote. I am also presenting two other sessions: one about using Desired State Configuration with Microsoft Operations Management Suite and one about my five top favorite things in Windows PowerShell 5.0.

La passerelle sécurisée d’entreprise - “Power BI Entreprise Gateway ” – En preview

Il existait jusqu’ici une passerelle nommée “Power BI Personnal Gateway” qui comme son nom l’indique, permet à un utilisateur unique de créer une passerelle sécurisée entre une source de données locale et son compte Power BI.

Contrairement à la “Personnal Gateway”, cette nouvelle passerelle d’entreprise va permettre à l’équipe IT de déployer et de gérer de manière centralisé plusieurs passerelles dans l’entreprise et donc de centraliser la gestion des sources de données, des comptes utilisateurs et des contrôles d’accès aux sources de données et de pouvoir proposer ces accès à plusieurs personnes dans l’entreprise.

Un nouveau connecteur vers Bing

Ce connecteur va nous permettre de faire de l’analyse sur l’activité de recherche vis-à-vis d’un terme particulier. Le tableau de bord connecté directement à Bing affiche les informations en direct sur le nombre de recherches, l’origine des recherches, la langue de la recherche etc…

Un nouveau connecteur vers VMob.

VMob est un outil d’analyse contextuelle en temps réel qui permet aux acteurs de la distribution de créer des campagnes de marketing personnalisées pour cibler les bons clients au bon moment et au bon endroit. 

L’intégration de rapports directement dans une application

Power BI nous permet d’intégrer des tuiles et des rapports Power BI dans une application spécifique en embarquant une IFrame dans une web app ou une mobile app.

La simplification du processus d’enregistrement d’une application

Lorsque l’on est amené à développer une application qui accède à l’API REST Power BI, il est nécessaire de l’inscrire auprès d’Azure Active Directory. Cela va permettre d’établir une identité pour notre application et spécifier des autorisations sur les ressources REST de Power BI.

Cette opération a été nettement simplifiée au travers d’une toute nouvelle expérience d’inscription d’une application décrite pas à pas dans des interfaces claires et documentées.

Un nouveau visuel – le “Scroller Visual”

Vous êtes surement déjà tombé sur une chaine de télévision économique qui vous montre un bandeau en bas de l’écran faisant défiler le cours des différentes sociétés cotées en bourse en temps réel et en permanence. Et bien c’est ce que ce nouveau visuel va nous permettre de faire avec nos propres données. Un bandeau en bas de l’écran qui fera défiler nos données mises à jour en temps réel.

Un nouveau visuel – le “Synoptic Panel” :

Ce visuel permet de relier des régions délimitées sur une image custom avec des attributs d’un modèle de données, permettant de remplir chaque zone avec une couleur définie ou une saturation d’une couleur en fonction d’une mesure.

Un nouveau visuel – le Sankey diagram

Ce visuel va nous permettre une magnifique expérience de visualisation de l’évolution d’un flux de données. Largement utilisé dans le secteur de l’énergie, cette nouvelle façon de visualiser un flux de données s’adapte à n’importe quel cas d’usage, comme par exemple comment un internaute va naviguer sur un site web, comment transite une pièce dans une chaine de production, etc…

Un nouveau visuel – les gauges

Pas besoin de s’entendre sur des explications, vous la connaissez bien ! Cette gauge nous permet de définir les points de min/max, la valeur réelle et la valeur cible à atteindre ainsi que la valeur du pointeur et la valeur en pourcentage qui sont affichées numériquement.

L’intégration de Power BI avec les QR codes

Power BI permet maintenant de créer un QR code associé à un visuel. Ce QR code va pouvoir ensuite être partagé par email ou bien imprimé et placé sur un objet ou un équipement. Un autre utilisateur avec qui ce visuel est partagé pourra alors scanner ce QR code à partir de son téléphone mobile pour avoir accès au visuel Power BI associé avec les données relatives à ce mail, cet objet ou cet équipement.

Epingler tout un rapport sur un tableau de bord :

Cette  fonctionnalité va nous permettre de créer une tuile unique contenant l’ensemble des visuels d’une page d’un rapport. Contrairement aux tuiles épinglées sur un tableau de bord classique que l’on va pouvoir ré-arranger, cette tuile va correspondre exactement à ce qui est définit sur le rapport sous-jacent, mais au travers d’une vue sur un tableau de bord dynamique. La modification d’un visuel sur le rapport est donc directement répliquée à cette tuile qui changera en parallèle le visuel sur le tableau de bord. De plus, cette tuile est complètement dynamique, comme le rapport, et permet donc d’utiliser des filtres ou bien de filtrer les visuels les uns par rapport aux autres en sélectionnant des données sur ces visuels.

Le rafraichissement de toutes les tuiles d’un tableau de bord en même temps :

Avant, le rafraichissement d’un tableau de bord nécessitait la mise à jour de chaque source de données correspondant aux différents visuels du tableau de bord de façon indépendante.

Il est maintenant possible de rafraichir toutes les sources d’un tableau de bord en un clic.

L’utilisation d’une image comme slicer :

Il est maintenant possible de filtrer les données à partir d’images.

Changer les interactions entre les visuels

Il est maintenant possible de choisir que lorsque l’on filtre un visuel ou lorsque l’on sélectionne une donnée sur ce visuel, cela n’ait pas d’impact sur les autres visuels.

De nouvelles fonctionnalités pour l’affichage des étiquettes de données sur les visuels

Il est maintenant possible de changer le format des labels différemment pour chaque catégorie de données :

Copier / coller la mise en forme d’un visuel sur un autre

Un outil très pratique que l’on connaît bien sur les outils Office, c’est le fameux pinceau qui permet de reproduire les mises en forme d’un objet sur un autre. A partir d’un visuel, on va donc pouvoir copier sur un autre visuel tout un tas de formatages comme la taille, les options du slicer, les options des étiquettes de données, le format du titre etc…

Des améliorations sur les visuels

Dans un tableau, un indicateur sur les colonnes nous précise quelle est la colonne selon laquelle le tableau est trié :

Un nouveau type de visuel est disponible :  “Stacked Area Chart”

Il va nous permettre de créer des graphiques de zones empilées aussi simplement que les autres types de graphes.

L’ajout d’une ligne de référence

On peut maintenant ajouter une ligne de référence indiquant une valeur que l’on détermine dans les options du visuels, la placer devant ou derrière le visuel, et la présenter sous forme d’une ligne unie ou de pointillés.

Amélioration des “Pie Chart” et “Scatter chart”

On a maintenant une utilisation optimisée de l’espace des “Pie Chart” et “Scatter chart” pour afficher les étiquettes de données.

L’intégration de nouveaux visuels pour les scripts “R” ( En preview )

Pour l’utiliser, il est nécessaire d’activer l’option correspondante dans les options de Power BI Desktop :

Après avoir redémarré Power BI Desktop, on va pouvoir voir un nouveau visuel :

Les utilisateurs vont placer les champs dans la catégorie “Values” du panneau de visualisation ce qui va permettre de les référencer au niveau de l’éditeur de script R qui se trouve en dessous. Une fois le script créé, l’utilisateur peut le lancer, ce qui va afficher les résultats dans le visuel du haut.

La suggestion des relations entre les tables

Lorsqu’on essaye de créer un visuel qui fait appel à plusieurs tables qui ne sont pas liées entre elles, Power BI va nous suggérer des relations entre ces tables pour nous aider à créer un modèle nous permettant d’afficher les données comme on souhaite le faire.

Amélioration du ruban

Le ruban d’outils a été amélioré de façon à ré-organiser au mieux les outils de création de rapports.

Lorsqu’on l’utilise sur un petit écran, Power BI Desktop va regrouper les outils par catégorie pour nous offrir une expérience optimisée sur ces tailles d’écrans.

Améliorations des relations entre les tables

La fenêtre de modélisation des données a été nettement améliorée de façon à offrir une meilleure expérience de visualisation des données et de leurs relations.

Les utilisateurs peuvent zoomer dans la fenêtres “Relations” pour mieux voir l’ensemble du modèle de données avec un curseur ou bien avec la combinaison “Ctrl” + molette de la souris. Il est possible d’ajuster le niveau de zoom automatiquement pour que l’écran affiche tout le modèle de données et on va pouvoir revenir en position initiale une fois que l’on a réglé le zoom.

Le support des hiérarchies d’un cube multidimensionnel

Pour l’utiliser, il est nécessaire d’activer l’option correspondant à l’activation du mode “Direct Query” pour les cubes multidimensionnels dans les options de Power BI Desktop :

Une fois connecté à un cube multidimensionnel en mode Direct Query, on va pouvoir directement utiliser une hiérarchie du cube pour effectuer du drill/down au niveau d’un visuel. 

Un nouveau connecteur vers Smartsheet

Il est maintenant possible de se connecter directement à la solution Smartsheet qui permet de gérer des paiements en ligne.

Un nouveau connecteur vers Stripe

Il est maintenant possible de se connecter directement à la solution Stripe  de collaboration et de gestion du travail en entreprise.

La création d’une table de donnée directement dans Power BI Desktop

Power BI Desktop nous permet maintenant de créer directement un tableau de données simple, et stocké dans Power BI Desktop. Ces données sont ensuite gérées comme n’importe quelle autre source de données et peuvent être modifiées depuis Power BI Desktop.

Amélioration du Direct Query

Le mode Direct Query a été amélioré pour inclure le support de touts les types de données de T-SQL et SAP HANA ce qui a un impacte positif sur les performances du mode Direct Query.

OneDrive For Business (OfB) kommt mit Office 365 sozusagen kostenlos mit. Für den Einsatz des OfB Cloud-Services gibt es einige Punkte zu beachten und auch einige Neuerungen, auf die ich in diesem und den folgenden Artikeln eingehen möchte, um über die bestmögliche Nutzung zu informieren. Zunächst folgt ein kleiner Überblick über den OfB Dienst.

Das OfB Service in Office 365

In Office 365 ist OneDrive for Business über den App Launcher jederzeit erreichbar (und heißt, damit es möglichst verwirrend ist) “OneDrive”.

Hinweis: OneDrive For Business (OfB) ist nicht ident mit OneDrive, dem “privaten” Cloud-Speicher, der mit einem Microsoft Account (MSA) verwaltet wird. OfB dient zur Verwaltung arbeitsbezogener Daten in Verbindung mit einem Unternehmenskonto und besitzt andere SLA’s.

Storage: Grundsätzlich ist OneDrive for Business ein Service, welches einen persönlichen Speicher innerhalb einer Organisation oder eines Unternehmens darstellt, der als zentrale Dokumentablage dient. OneDrive for Business kann Dokumentbibliotheken, einen Papierkorb und persönliche Newsfeed Information enthalten.

Lizenz und Limit: Dieser persönliche Cloud-Speicher ist für jeden Benutzer mit einer Office 365 Lizenz - genauer gesagt, mit einer validen SharePoint Lizenz – nutzbar. In den Enterprise Versionen von Office 365 erhält jeder Benutzer somit bis zu 1TB Online Speicherplatz. In Government-Editionen ist dieser Speicherplatz auf 100GB beschränkt.

Sync: OfB besitzt eine Integration in das lokale Betriebssystem - sprich in das Filesystem - und es wird ein SyncClient bereit gestellt. Damit ist bequemes Arbeiten online und offline möglich und die “App” kümmert sich im Hintergrund um die Synchronisation der Dateien zwischen der Cloud und dem lokalen Computer.

Sharing: Eine weitere Funktion ist das “Sharing”. OfB Dateien können sehr einfach an andere Benutzer weitergegeben werden. Dies erfolgt durch Senden einer Einladung mit einem Link an eine EMail-Adresse. OfB nutzt alle Vorteile einer zentralen SharePoint Site, jedoch für persönliche Dateien.

Online: In Office 365 sieht die Verwaltung von OfB aus wie eine SharePoint Dokumentbibliothek. Und es ist auch eine SPO Document Library…

Gibt es OfB auch ohne Cloud?

Ja. OfB kann auch auf einem SharePoint Server im eigenen Unternehmen gehostet werden. In diesem Fall entscheidet der SP-Administrator, ob das OfB Service zur Verfügung gestellt wird und wie viel Speicherplatz für einzelne Benutzer bereit steht. Hier hat sich allerdings auch die IT-Abteilung um Backup, Restore und den Betrieb selbst zu kümmern.

Der TechNet Artikel Set up OneDrive for Business in a SharePoint Server 2013 on-premises environment informiert über Wissenswertes beim Einsatz in einer lokalen Installation.

Synchronisation

Eine eigene Software kümmert sich im Hintergrund um die automatische Synchronisation zwischen den Daten in wer Wolke und dem lokalen Computer. Aktuell gibt es zwei OfB Sync Clients;

• Den alten SyncClient (Groove.exe) und
• den neuen SyncClient (OneDrive.exe)

Abhängig davon, welcher SyncClient eingesetzt wird, gibt es (derzeit) unterschiedliche Funktionen und Regeln.
Die Synchronisation integriert OfB in den Windows Explorer und in das lokale Dateisystem. Der lokale Dateipfad lautet dabei C:\Users\<Username>\OneDrive – <Unternehmensname>\… wie in diesem Beispiel.

Filesystem Regeln in OfB

Wahrscheinlich der wesentlichste Punkt, den es beim Einsatz von OfB zu beachten gibt, betrifft die Einschränkungen im Dateisystem. Abhängig vom verwendeten SyncClient, gelten folgende Regeln:

• Es können pro SharePoint Dokumentbibliothek insgesamt maximal 2GB Dateien synchronisiert werden.
• Pro SharePoint Dokumentbibliothek können maximal 5,000 Einträge synchronisiert werden.
• Es können maximal 20,000 Einträge (insgesamt, über alle synchronisierten  Dokumentbibliothek hinweg) synchronisiert werden.
• In SharePoint Server 2013 können Dateinamen maximal  128 Zeichen lang sein. In SharePoint Online (Office365) ist die maximale Länge 256 Zeichen.
• Die Gesamtlänge von Ordnernamen und Dateinamen darf maximal 250 Zeichen betragen.
• Es gibt einige verbotene Zeichen, die nicht verwendet werden dürfen. Diese sind: \ / : * ? " < > | # %
• Ordnamen, die mit einer Tilde (~) beginnen, sind nicht erlaubt.
• In SharePoint Server 2013 wird die Liste der verbotenen Zeichen noch erweitert: \ / : * ? " < > | # { } % ~ & und Dateinamen dürfen nicht mit einem Punkt (.) oder einer Tilde (~) beginnne.
• Bestimmte Dateien und Dateitypen können nicht in OfB upgeloadet werden, unter anderem: *.tmp, *.ds_store, desktop.ini, thumbs.db, ehthumbs.db. In SP on prem können IT-Admins zusätzlich bestimmte Dateitypen verbieten.
• Dateien, die aktuell geöffnet sind (etwa ein Word Dokument, welches in Word offen ist), kann nicht upgeloadet werden.

Hinweis: Wenn diese Regeln beachtet werden, klappt es im Regelfall auch mit der Synchronisation!

Einige diese Einschränkungen fallen mit dem “neuen” SyncClient weg.

If you want to use Windows Update (WU) or Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) to update Nano Server, there is a WU WMI provider in TP4 that can be used to scan for and install updates. 

To install all applicable updates:

1. Establish a Remote PowerShell session to your Nano Server machine. The following steps use $sess as the session, so replace that if using something else.

2. To receive the full list of applicable updates:

$sess = New-CimInstance -Namespace root/Microsoft/Windows/WindowsUpdate -ClassName MSFT_WUOperationsSession

3- To detect, download and install all applicable updates

Note that step 5 lists what is installed but if doesn’t actually state “installed” in the output. If for reporting purposes you want that additional detail, you can instead run:

To install a subset of updates:

1. Run steps 1 & 2 above

2. Review the list of updates returned in the scanResults.Updates array and remove any that you do not wish to download and install:

Known Issues

There are currently two known issues:

1. If there are no available applicable updates, running the following command in step 2:

Returns the following error

2. Using the steps above with Defender installed will prevent any updates from installing. You can either:

a. Uninstall Defender, run WU, and reinstall Defender

-- or --

b. Download the update package on another machine, copy it over, and use Dism to apply the package

 WSUS

Using the above steps on a default installation of Nano Server, if the machine has Internet access it will query the Windows Update/Microsoft Update service to find and download updates. If you are using WSUS in your environment you can set the registry keys in Nano Server to have it use your WSUS Server. The necessary WSUS keys are documented in “Windows Update Agent Environment Options Registry Keys” in this article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708449(v=ws.10).aspx. At a minimum you need to set WUServer and WUStatusServer, depending on how WSUS is implemented in your environment you may require some of the other values to be set. If you are unsure, you can always check these settings on another Windows Server in your environment.

Once the registry values are set for WSUS, running the above commands will have WU query WSUS for the applicable updates and use WSUS as the source for the download.

Auto Updating

To Auto Update on Nano Server you can convert the above scan an install steps into a local PS script and create a scheduled task to run and reboot the system on your schedule.
